Reading and Answering Ministry Messages

Who this guide is for

You are a member or a leader of a ministry. You want to read what the ministry sent, or answer a message.

Why messages are kept in one place

A ministry sends messages by email or text. The Messages page keeps a copy of each one with its replies, so you can find it again.

What you will do, in one sentence

Open your ministry, select Messages, and open a message to read the thread and reply.

1. Open the Messages page​

  1. Open Ministries and select your ministry.
  2. Open the messages. The page title is Messages. The address is /ministries/<id>/messages.
  3. Select the arrow and the ministry name at the top to go back to the ministry.

The page lists the messages of the ministry. The newest message is first. If the list is empty, the page says "No messages yet".

2. Read a thread​

  1. Select Reply on a message in the list.
  2. The page shows the Thread. It lists each message with the name of the sender and the date.
  3. Select Back to Messages to close the thread.

A message can show formatted text or plain text. Both show the same words.

3. Reply to a message​

  1. Open the thread.
  2. Type your answer in the box that says "Type your reply...".
  3. Select Send Message. The reply appears in the thread.

4. See older messages​

Select Load More at the bottom of the list. The page adds the next messages.

5. Send a new message (leaders)​

If you can send messages for this ministry, the page shows New Message next to the title. Select it to open the compose page. The guide for that page is the guide "Writing and Sending a Ministry Message".

If you do not see New Message, you cannot send for this ministry. Ask the parish office.

6. What can go wrong​
